Red Velvet

RED VELVET
New SM Girl Group

When I first heard the song I will be quite honest, I wasn't "thrilled" about it or pulled in.. but as time passed and people raged about their good live stages and such I became curious and checked out the lives soon enough the SM catchy tune curse fell upon me as I found my self humming "Ireon money jeoreun power doo doo da tta tta tta ttaragada" or "Shine on me! Let it shine on me!" Damn it! The song was stuck in my head, not only that but I also kept thinking only one member and how pretty she was I later found out that member was named "Irene."

Happiness reminded me of IGAB from SNSD mainly because I was the same when I got a boy was released, I didn't like it nor did I hate it but as time moved on and the SM catchy tune virus hit me I started to like I got a boy. For Red Velvet all I can say is killer visuals and talented girls, Wendy proved herself by hitting her high note spectacularly on that debut stage. I wish the girls luck and hope to see a song better than Happiness from- sorry given to them.

CONTROVERSY & HATE

My thoughts on the controversy is simple. Seeing as the anniversary for the Hiroshima bombing is coming up they shouldn't have used it period neither should they have used 9/11 seeing as that tragedy is something that will never be forgotten and will always haunt american's minds/give them chills. "But the lyrics were meant to portray even if you're going through a hard time we should all find happiness." The lyrics are positive yes and the girl joy it was? Who supposedly was "stopping" the plane from crashing into the towers so that they would still remain happy and the tragedy would never happened if she could prevent it was a sweet gesture but you shouldn't use tragedies from anywhere South Korea, North Korea, Japan, China, America, Barbados, Canada, Trinidad etc.. in a music video like this seeing as someone will get hurt and will be offended and will be reminded of/from it. They could have used other stuff like some youtubers said divorce, break up, a pet dying, someone passing away there was so much other material to choose from why choose something you KNOW will start up controversy? It brought a smile to my face to see some Koreans acknowledging the wrong of them doing so but also a frown at those who didn't but if I could type on these sites to reply all I would say is "Suppose the comfort women tragedy was used in an American music video.. would you still be able to not see how offensive a nation's tragedy being used in such a way can be?"
Even as I wrote that it panged my heart because though I am not of Korean descent that incident when I made my self knowledgeable of it brought tears to my eyes, no woman should ever be treated like that or have to ever go through that.

------------------------------------------------------------

The hate on Red Velvet has been ridiculous. SM fans hating the group because they feel as though they are going to get in the way of f(x) and other groups. Why are you going on these girls' debut teasers and video expressing your hate and disliking the video. So you're going to ruin innocent bystander's lives because of the company? I think the hate is extremely and utterly unnecessary and that people need to leave these girls alone and go write a letter to SM or something.. why take it out on a newly debuted groups debut teasers, videos and articles? It's completely ridiculous... Some fans just need to slide their computer chair back, take a breather, go outside, take a stroll...just get away from their computer for a while because it seems as though all logic is being lost somewhere along the lines here that they would bash innocent bystanders for debuting.
